Here is a thought that has been in my mind for quite some time, but I will credit it to Sunny Gupta, a tribesman from Delhi.
Sunny suggested an “open house” concept in a recent Facebook Jam. This is what he wrote…
I’d been thinking about having a one day conclave / student conference…we all are students…we meet at some place…and talk about investments? We can choose a simple place where we can discuss things…and take our own notes in our notebooks…I’d prefer open sky in nice weather these days in North India…it’s not hot, not cold…just the pleasant weather…and a right environment to talk value investing.
Great thought, isn’t it?
Open sky, nice Delhi weather, and value investing. That seems like an amazing combination!
In fact, I suggested that we can have this open house in the garden opposite India Gate. 🙂
So here’s announcing The Safal Niveshak Open House.
As the name suggests, it will be an open forum where you just need to come with a notepad and pen, there won’t be any presentations, it will be a session of great brain storming on value investing..
The event is dutch, so we’ll share the expenses for food etc.
I’ll start with Mumbai and Delhi, and then take it to other cities depending on the response.
Here’s the schedule for the Open House in Mumbai and Delhi:
Mumbai Open House
Date: Saturday, 1st December 2012
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: Food Court of Inorbit Mall, Vashi (Navi Mumbai)
New Delhi Open House
Date: Saturday, 29th December 2012
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: To be finalized (Tribesmen in Delhi, please help!)
Agenda etc.
You can walk in anytime during this period (and walk out whenever you want).
We will let people introduce themselves and explain what they do, and then discuss ideas in investing.
Who should attend?
Well, it doesn’t matter if you are a student or an active or passive investor. If you don’t want to speak or share, no problems! You can come to just hear others out.
What’s the purpose?
Is to help each other by discussing problems around investing, sharing investment ideas and what each one is doing in these current times. The idea is also to get connected with each other.
The admission is Free!
